I recently unearthed a large number of documents written for school and for fun, and have scanned most of them. This collection of posts will display some of the “best”. I had a hard time deciding whether to include typos and poor grammar/spelling in my modern-day transcriptions. In the end, I think that it was best to preserve the integrity of these documents, and have transcribed the original material as it was. I plan to post them on Thursdays, in keeping with the Internet darling, #tbt, at least until that meme has run its course. Enjoy!
There’s a wonderful moment at my family’s annual Christmas party, often punctuated by awkward titters from the children of the day. To an adult who understands the fragility of family and the beauty of sitting and listening to a patriarch reminisce, those children’s groans can come across as nearly sacrilegious, but I know that I, too, offered the same as a boy, because sometimes when faced with something so unusual, so magical, the right response is not at hand.
